Dr. Carnetta Porter is Psychological Assistant (PSB94020699 ) practicing under the supervision of Dr. Jaseon Outlaw (PSY23676). She earned her Masters of Arts and Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology from CSPP/Alliant International University in 2008, and also graduated from the University of California, Davis with a Bachelor’s of Arts in Sociology. Her doctoral research focused on the relationships between language acquisition, acculturation, racial identity development and its impact on mental health for bilingual children. Dr. Porter completed her postdoctoral fellowship within a multicultural training program at UCSF/SFGH, Child and Adolescent Services with specialized training focused on vulnerable populations inter-generationally exposed to traumatic life experiences. Dr. Porter utilizes culturally-specific therapeutic interactions and trauma focused therapy to address issues that impact the quality of life development and achievement, which can often result in experiences of chronic stress, depression and anxiety. She aims to empower clients to foster change in their lives through a relationship veiled in patience and trust.
